There's good staff and bad staff unfortunately the bad staff make it unbearable. I was told directly to my face(by some asshat named renardo who works security) "you are a nothing You're a nobody! With other staff and residents present. I went about it as directed and filed a greivance but guess what he's still here and I don't feel safe. I've gone days upon days without my medication because staff has some sort of power Trip and will refuse to give people their own meds. I've learned good things from a few good staff and residents. I've grown to hate this place and I hope things change for the better but it's got a long way to go. I'm leaving today and I tried to get my meds and again I'm refused and told to get it later I told the lady I'm going to continually be denied it because no one really cares. I've seen med boxes sit for months because they were denied their medication upon leaving. I've had a maintenance man walk in my room I was sleeping practically naked. I can go on and on about horrible stuff but I hope you get the picture. I've got good stories too but I'm far too upset with the way I've been treated.

My name is Lauren, and I have been to residential treatment twice then to recovery housing twice. My most current stay as of now is in recovery housing for 6 months. One of the previous written negative comments is ENTIRELY false. Hitchcock has saved my life, and even when I had a 2-day relapse in the beginning of my stay, they gave me another chance. I owe my life to the facility, staff, and fellow clients here. I've learned to be a woman of integrity here. I learned to be self-reliant and accountable.... some qualities ive never possessed! The staff are sensitive to our needs and try to be fair. The living quarters are nice and cozy, but plumbing can be an issue. Maintenance are quickly responsive to problems. As far as 'bedbugs' a previous client mentioned, they can be a nuisance in ANY place that has a high turnover rate. But maintenance are good at bringing the professionals in. I did however get bit up by bedbugs by putting that same clients shoes on, but her problem was an ISOLATED and what some may call a "PERSONAL PROBLEM". Some people just dont have a high level of accountability! Besides that, my experience a Hitchcock Center for Women has been life changing and life rewarding! Thank you for allowing me to give an honest and objective review!

If you are struggling with addiction and are trying to find a way out these are the doors that I would suggest you walk through. Hitchcock saved me and my baby's life. This was the only facility in Northeast Ohio that was willing to take me because I was pregnant and I am on methadone. Hitchcock blessed me with the tools that I needed to stay sober and to find a new way of life. I'm proud to say that God has blessed me with over 2 years of sobriety and I have full custody of my daughter with no legal involvement. I highly encourage any women who are struggling and addiction and are trying to find a way out to come to open orientation and give yourself a chance. God Bless :-)
